Using it

Rez the meter on the ground where you want it to live. Wherever it is sitting when nobody is using it is home — it remembers that spot, its size and its transparency, and puts itself back there after every measurement.

Taking a measurement

Touch the meter and pick M or F. It stretches to your height, turns see-through, stands where you are, and says in local chat the age your height reads as — an average, plus the youngest and oldest it could be. A couple of seconds later it goes home.

One at a time

The meter measures one person at a time. Anyone else touching it while it is busy is asked to wait. If you own it, touching a busy meter frees it immediately.

Moving it

Just move it. The next time it is idle and somebody touches it, it takes the new spot as home. You do not have to reset anything.

What it is actually measuring

Your avatar height plus the usual 0.15m allowance, sent as centimetres. The answer comes from a height-for-age table, which is why it gives a range as well as an average.
